July 29, 1987 -- October 26, 2006 His sire, Soot 'N' Ashes, produced ROM. His dam, Sunny K's Tybee, produced ROM & AQHA Superior. And... Sunny K Sootzz was a great-grandson of the immortal Bill Cody! Sunny K Sootzz was registered by NFQHA, FQHR, and FQHA as full 100% Foundation. Basically, he had no added Thoroughbred blood since before the AQHA was founded in 1940. Full 100% foundation under the criteria of three foundation registries has been met by only a tiny handful of present-day stallions! Sunny K Sootzz's pedigree included many crosses to wonderful old bloodlines such as Peter McCue, Old Sorrel, Bert, Billy Clegg, Joe Reed, Wimpy, & Leo. Sunny K Sootzz was truly a "nice guy" with brains, disposition, athletic ability, conformation, cow sense, color (he carries black, palomino, and red factor genes) & those great old fashioned American Quarter Horse feet & legs!

A full great-grandson of the immortal Bill Cody; Sootzz was by an ROM producing sire and was out of an AQHA Superior producing dam. Sootzz has the ability to be --and sire-- a good all-around "using" horse. Members of his family excel in many events including English, Western, and Driving. And Sootzz had that marvelous old-time Quarter Horse cow sense... we once even saw him alone in the pasture, happily chasing our beef cattle away from a broken fence!

 Sootzz was an athletic, fluid mover with smooth and graceful gaits and a good natural lead change. He had balanced, correct conformation for nearly any event.

His gaits were enhanced by a lovely sloping shoulder.

He was gentle to work with, and intelligent to train... He had a beautiful head with a kind eye, but most of all, Sunny K Sootzz had a kind heart, and a sweet personality. He was friendly and he loved people, and every single one of his foals have too!

You can almost still hear him saying, "Hey, come and visit me and give me a pat..."
