Colt from Right Side

Born close to midnight under the full moon & stars, out in the field with his Daddy watching; this baby looks like he will grow up to be midnight black with a moon-shaped star!

A thirsty guy with a very big appetite!

A Smoky Black?

We thought this baby may be another true "smoky" black who carries one hidden copy of the creme dilute color gene (the Palomino & Buckskin producing gene), like his daddy Sunny K Sootzz.

Note at 14 hours after his birth he has a pretty blue eye, (like many newborn Palominos) which may indicate the presence of that wonderful gene!

JULY 2004 Update - "Friday" has been DNA tested by UC Davis and he is a confirmed heterozygous SMOKY BLACK (one black gene/one red gene with one copy of the cream dilution gene).
